The idea has been suggested/mentioned countless times along with chak's sharks. Now here is the thing wolves are territorial and wont engage a human unless said human entered their territory/threatened their pups. Now this doesn't speak for the rare single lone wolf for whichever reason was kicked from the pack due to weakness or injury. Lone wolves tend to be less predictable. Also have fun trying to swing a sword at a wolf they are very dexterous. And if in a group will most likely distract you from the front and flank you from behind.
My motions are swift as a eagle, on my worst day I am still Lethal. No challenge, only start me when you learn the ripples of a butterflies heartbeat.

And then the deer casts a heal and the realism police chill out. You've got to remember, guy. This game isn't setting new standards for animal A.I. (yet, at least.)

Woah! What the hell is that? It's not a wolf from what i can see.. Some kind of donkey mutant perhaps? Or just jorb being drunk when drawing a wolf or maybe he doesnt know what a wolf looks like so here you go jorb.

Since you dev's seems to fancy the ancestors so much, here's some interesting reading... which you probably already know.

http://www.erulian.in.rs/English/Vuk1.html

For those uninterested to read it all, it basically outlines the importance of wolves to the ancient Slavic people especially in mythology. Some nice suggestions of white wolves being the holy symbol of protection for miners (nice idea for mining buff item), the obvious in the importance of lunar phases, especially full moon (nice idea for fishing lure) etc etc.

Generally just another hint at giving us another wild animal with some associated goodies.

just to bump up.
wolves spawn on any terrain apart from swamp, mudflat and jungle/thicket> though found most commonly at night on fir forest tiles
they will spawn in a group of 4 but will not despawn like normal animals, instead they will mate and have pups like a tamed animal, which grows up and joins the pack, rinse and repeat, so if you have a wolve problem and dont deal with it, it has the potential to grow and grow until you have a large pack <hardcap pack numbers to maybe 20> however when 24 adults is reached in a pack 4 will leave and make a new pack.
also limit one pack to a grid, which is not saying therre is a pack on every grid just not more than one to one.
wolves hunt on foxes, rabbit, chicken, aurochsen/cows, mouflon/sheep.
instead of leaving of the prey behind they will only leave the bones
lvl 1 hp=200?? < im not good at things like that>
curio's: wolf claw> base lp 650, attention required 7, time 8hrs> again im not good at those ratio's.
when you collect bonees you also recieve a 2 wolf fangs, and when you skin it you get a raw wolves fur

new items> wolfsbane: use, wolves will not aggro you while wearing unless you attack first.
item req: silver silver bar x1 wolf fang x4 silk thread x1> only crafted on a full moon

wolf helmet: use, a defensive helmet, item req: wolves fur x1 wolf fang x2 > basically looks like the bear cape except only covers the head and looks like wolf

wolf gloves: RARE, use, armor, that also increases ua damage. item req: wolf claw x4, wolves fur x2, hardend leather x2

Q= the average of all componets and sewing skill

TAMING<YAY>
when a wolve is tamed, which is the same as taming any pack animal, it becomes your dog. your dog will follow you if you want it without the need of a rope and do your bidding.<see below>, to initiate the following right click on the on screen dog
the use of your dog???
the dog will display on your hud-the bars at the top.
it will have an image that you can right click on that will open a flower menu, much like in a party the menu will include:
perform trick> can perform a simple trick for dog lp> explained later> tricks would be discovered through recipies the basic being fetch only needing a stick, wheras more complex ones would include playing dead, which would only be available when the player has been knocked out while the dog is following
hunt> this will make the dog chase any edible animal within your screen + 2/3rds in every direction. the catch is that. a dog will have no problem with rabbits/chickens/rats> it will just chase>kill>then stay with them while you follow the dog, BUT WAIT. if you want it to attack any animal that would attack back then your dog will enter a fight, generically it would be around an even match with a fox, but if you set it against say a mouflon then it would be beaten harder than we could imagine beating Orlando bloom. UNLESS, you train your dog. when a dog kills or performs a trick, this lp can be used to upgrade the dogs stats which are basics like speed, strength, constitution and intelligence , spped and strength would help it win fights, intelligence would get it more lp from tricks and constitution would give it more health. this brings me to my next point
BREEDING a dog would breed like any other animal, it would inherit a percent of its parents attributes. also DOGS EAT MEAT they cannot be fed seeds and such foolery, they must be built a dog bowl<board x2> which will be filled with meat, meaning that the dog also has a bit of an FEP system.
they affect happiness to but that dosnt matter

sorry, i realise its a wall of text but i cant shorten it without leaving out important bits
as it is ive left out some off the add-ons ive thought off
if this gets a good response then i might be able to add the finishing touches

The devs aren't good at making AI?

The thought the importance of making certain games better is making your non-player characters more smarter?
