+1 1/2
I like it, but there has to be a disadvantage, like cave-ins

I definitely like this idea, it'll give the art of surprise, hehe. You're just walking along, see a fence around a cave entrance, go all wtf? Go inside, then suddenly, NINJAS!!!

HOWEVER, the idea of a tunnel network would be a pretty difficult thing to implement IMO. The tunnel system, as is proven by rustroot prospecting, is separate from the main world map. It would be rather difficult to line up both the maps, and then actually tunnel UP to where you want to go accurately, so +1 to cave idea, -1 to ambush tunnel thingy.

I have to say, i avoided the caves for a long time, because i thought they were animal dwellings. I really expected it to be a fox hole or a bear cave. Needless to say, i was disappointed with the lack of death in caves.

I dont like the tunnel network, the caves should be separated.

Say you are attacking the village inside the cave. Simple. Just destroy their farm outside and brickwall the door. Leave them starving until surrender xD (They have no crops, no animal food, maybe no fishing...)
