Me neither, I wanted to but then I saw a guy on a raft being overtaken by cancer with multiple schlorosis hot on its heels, so I decided to give it a miss, forever.

yes well if you are using them as a makeshift bridge their ridiculous speed becomes less of an issue ;)

Well the most simplest form is the first option, pouring dirt into the river till it's solid.
This would be Terraforming, and maybe it should be a skill that's limited to those who has other "hearth" related skills.

Terraforming allows you to fill in rivers and expanding cliffsides by using a shovel and a/or a large amount of dirt and stone. This skill greatly reduces your character's stamina and takes more than one person to do it efficiently.

Filled in rivers will only last for a while (3 days) until the current erodes it back into it's original form.

Terraforming costs 5000 LP and is a mid-level skill, but requires a shovel to use (which requires metal).

Yup-yup, we'll be doing just that and then they will be awesome... the fastest bridges in the world. May as well rename them, 'cause they are hardly ever useful at their intended purpose... hauling tamed animals when initially setting up your village...hmmm, actually that is good enough.
