It's to make my tutorial more confusing.

so when I say "food gives fep" i have to add "well except apples, bread, hazelnuts, taproot." this is very important

Hehe, well. The tree foregables I think are somewhat motivated. Maybe if they added like 0.1 FEPs, but they are really far too abundant to give anything meaningful.

It'd be kind of strange if apples were inedible, n'est-ce pas? :)

If I were (even more) OCD and I wanted my stats to be in a particular pattern or stop at a particular place, I think there should be an easily producible food that will keep me alive without giving me those dirty, messy FEPs. IMO keep bread the way it is!

We added them in to keep the newbs from starving.

... although how anyone ever managed to starve in this game is beyond me.

Why would you waste your time drawing something that'll never be used? IMO we need recipes which call for any cheese, and gouda should give like 8 slices per tray.

Loftar has talked a lot about that to. The problem is that a lot of your sense of progression depends on you getting food. However, I think seasons could potentially work wonders to create meaningful periods of want. A harsh winter, for example.
