It's best to not try to troll over someone when you're trying to sell us your idea.

They aren't rules, but damn well try to get your suggestion passed without consulting the guidelines.

oooh, if we are talking Nordic mystic being, i got a whole book!

Huldra who lives in the lakes and ponds and entices young men into the depths (looks like a naked beautifull woman, only the tail gives her away)

The nordic version of goblins are little gnomelike things that live int he woods, hidden from all.

And of course the wood trolls, the mainstay of our mythology, being huntet til this day (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy2nAOdBUlw)

But i still want to see a pack of wolves trying to take down a bear, and me walking inn and harvesting the bones they leave behind.

Got so excited i forgot my suggestion,

Huldra, an aquatic being that will try and drag players out of their boats, if you try to fight her. Player must land and eiter wait til she leaves, or walk down stream til she looses your track

Gnomes, small people that live everywhere, but can only be seen if you have both high stealth and explo, and are walking at a crawl (being sneaky) perhaps you can try to catch them, like dragonflies of moths, and perhaps you could also sling them, for different benifits. Release the gnome inside your house, and you might find gifts left for you at times, totaly random, and someone seems to always make your bed and clean the hearth.

But goblins sounds fun to, like knockers in old Germanic lore (Darklands anyone). The might live mostly in caves, making spoloking a bit more of a general hazard.

;Editet dragons out :)

This I'm all for, but if goblins are gonna be able to make buildings, they shouldn't require materials and should decay when all the goblins are dead, regardless of where the building is

And dragons.... best source of gold in the game, and the surest way to get killed.

this on the other hand, i debate, since this seems to a be a "rich get richer" ploy, since large factions such as DIS would probably be the only ones to have the equipment and manpower to tackle dragons.

Because this isn't WoW.

Ants are one thing, they move at crawl speed and hit for relatively low damage but even they can be deadly in a pack. Pack monsters that are naturally aggressive just doesn't really make sense in a perma-death game unless you're playing project zomboid or something. With movement combat the way that it is, it's far too easy to just be flat out destroyed by these things. One could argue that there are already pack monsters (herd of animals for example) but they don't aggro on sight. I guess what I'm trying to say is, in a perma death game with the current combat system, the addition of these monsters would add no real benefit and cause unneeded problems. The current problem with pack monsters is that you need to range them from a boat or signpost them in to kill them off, with goblins it would be the same scenario and I believe Jorbtar is trying to get away from those tactics as much as possible.

Hm, i was more thinking they just spawn like other critters, perhaps like ants with some kind of knockerhole. and you could search the hole for an item of some sort.

When you say build buildings, are you thinking that they establish themselvs in an area and expand, so at some point they are not just a irritant, but a danger of swarming ocer the area? and perhaps the local villages need to band together to defeat them?

Edit-

Good point Jordan, is that why wolves where never implemented? Seen the pictures. Any new critters or major development would take time anyway, and if they ever get back to HH, there seem to be alot they want to change. But salem seem to have few aggresive herd animals (basing this on the vids, im not an alphaer) so you might be right
