2000 views are usually less than 1$, and ad revenue is often based on actual clicks and follow-up registrations.
if regular visitors stop clicking ads, the revenue is next to nothing. Most ad companies won't even accept small sites like this one.

Wrong.
If you have google ads PPC you can get over $300 a week with 2,000 viewers actually clicking.
It works on a system where the people who set up the ads here 'bid' on your website, if the site is popular enough you could get upwards of $0.10 Per Click (Numbers from a fansite that I co-owned for another game back in the day). Realistically let's say you even get just 1 cent per 10 clicks, Google Ads allows each IP to click twice a day and count as a 'click', there are estimated 3,000 'active' users, let's say half of them click it twice daily because they're so faithful, that'd still be $3 a day, not very bad at all for a harmless google ad.

Warning: Numbers based on optimism, be lucky if 10% of the users click, while I've been on forums where a lot more people click that rarely happens.
