Forages:
A string from trees that directly works like a rope.
An herb to make potions. If you collect it on day, the potion made heals you. If you collect in on night, the potion made could be used like venom.
An herb you could plant on plowed areas, and when growing it replaces nearby plants, (a way to attack enemy farms :D)

Curios:
crikets (only appear when u are quiet), grasshopers (hard to pick by a single person), ent-like leprechauns :D

well...
Each type of terrain have something to give, but thicklets not and are also awfully lagging. A jungle could offer lots of weird fruits, a nice fertilized terrain type (not removable), or black oil like in the swamp.
I whould love a usefull thicklet, because all the time i walk on one of those i wonder "what's the meaning of this awfull place...bah".

There could be lots of cool meaning! >.<!

I'd be fine with thickets just giving extra cover, say
You go into the thicket and your character isn't outlined with yellow.
This would be good about a year ago before the radars and autohearth bullshit though.

You go behind something and your character isn't displayed.
This would be good about two years ago though.

also, loses pathfinding (but not aggro)

Also when you hide, you're forced to load all that thickles. My pc feel that pretty heavy. Less heavy when i hide those but it don't solve the heavylness and useless of that terrain type, at the moment. If only i could tell to the client or the server to not load-send me anyone of those useless thicklets. Really, are too much and the client isn't fast. This java client (ender or not) can reach aroun 300mb of memory use, so i cant feel happy to put heavy on an already heavy client.

If i have to lag, i whould at last have a good reason to suffer this terrain. XD

I like the idea also. I would like a creature that acts like a boss. It takes shape of a object to blend it's natural surroundings like a boulder. You have to do something to awake it. Probably a rock giant or something. . . It's interesting how the thread creator of this isn't listing anything down. I support the mountain goats also.
