On the other hand, nobody want to stack items of different quality. That would be a mess. So we would see 2 q10 feathers can stack, but a q10 and a q11 go 2 slots. And it is illogical.

This is not about realism, but about good gameplay.

To the general topic: Loftar has planned some kind of new fluid system which I am pretty sure will cover it since many items like flour, seeds etc then will be counted as fluids and thus be stackable in a sense.

I think there's another thing broken. You can hold 16 feathers, right? The only problem is that feather acts like many sometimes and also it acts like one. So, when you write, it's a single one, but when you get 'em... Isn't it a little illogical having just 3 feathers from a whole hen?

Also, stones act like one when you make a stone axe or shoot 'em, but they act like many when you pave. Branches and blocks of wood do resize (you need 1/5 of block of wood to make a pickaxe and you need 3 blocks to make a scythe).

So, i think that's the actual problem by the time.

How is that a problem that should be discussed now? The "system" works fine, so why bother change it?

That is not a problem at all. It is a simplification to make gameplay better for the players and it works just fine.

Why would you possibly give a shit about any of this? None of this stuff is important in the scape of gameplay. No one plays this game because it provides a realistic survival experience. They play it because the gameplay is (or ideally should be) well thought out and balanced. People who point to stupid little inaccuracies like you're mentioning are some level of autistic or simply hate playing fun games.

The term is "abstraction". All games use it on one level or another because you just can't make a completely accurate recreation of <blank> (blank being physics, life, whatever).
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

The feathers would not be broken. IN the game we are talking about soft feathers. Feather dusters, feather bed, fishing lures... They are pliable.

I'll disagree on stacking. Even with mixed quality it is a nice feature.

OH it is really bad news that flour is considered as liquid. Need a barrel or bag to produce them, and got qualities mixed up? I don't think anyone wants that kind of stack.

Flour obviously could not be stacked.

i can also eat an entire bear as long as i'm hungry enough and sat at a table with the right silverware, it's a game, we're not discussing logic here, gameplay is often more important
Oh boy, here I go cheesemaking again...
