It could be argued that cauldron and fire related reciepts should be changed to run automatic though by giving them inventories to drop the ingredients into and let it process. So you could offload your ingredients, start the process and return a bit later to collect the result - or let it boil/roast till you can scrape off black goo from the cauldron since the proteins denaturated into some form of sticky tar residue.
Grinder and milling flour could be paired with water- or windmill (or something bull driven) to do the mechanical work for the same result there - this would actually make sense since building a windmill should be somewhat easier than to come up with the method to do steel alloys.
Totally agree. Granger usually comes with the most elegant solutions.
