Are you Jorbtar? Do you know the mind of Jorbtar? Neither of them has once said will there never be bridges, only that they aren't possible with the way the game is currently designed. Who the hell knows what they're going to do with things after Salem comes out.

i know what will happen after salem comes out,
everyone will play salem, and make suggestions, and report bugs, and they will fix them.

I thought I read in an old Hel thread somewhere one of the two of them saying they won't add them (not that they can't, but they won't).

Either way it still stands the chance of bridges being implemented is extremely slim.

I don't ever recall anyone EVER saying "Never," just the "not possible with the current game design."

key phrase there. I have not a clue as to what sort of changes will be coming after Salem, and neither does anyone else. I don't think Jorb and loftar know everything they want to do, just have a starting list of things to redesign (some of which is probably already in the process of being recoded).

hmm... if you love something, you can spend time on it... i'm pretty sure jorbtar still treat haven as a child, it's just a child that they've left alone for some time so they can earn some money to fund it's education
Oh boy, here I go cheesemaking again...

hehe. Nice analogy. Can we have them arrested for neglect now? :P

just another stressed out thumbs up for this, currently being harried and raid attempted by some dudes across other side of entire map. please oh please water tile terraform for easy eventual boat travel, and removal of teleportation so dudes across map cant just raid anyone on entire map without having to travel ages and ages

creating a safe base has become an carefully balanced art of topside compound looking derelict with mineshaft and bottomside compound with valuables, sometimes several levels down to prevent undertermined prying eye's all with expensive tedious brick and at least 2 or 3 grids from water on all sides.... ridiculous!

edit: ok, this was a bit harsh.

Simple fact is that the idea under current mechanics is too broken. What's stopping this from becoming an easier method to create a hearth vault?

You of all people should know the irrelevance of your complaint =)

kill teleportation at same time, no hearth vaults, no damn vaults at all, maybe invent a new tile that looks normal but is a buffer between shore and normal and you cant build on it?, i can see that working, same way the 'cant build 3 from black' in a cave works, alot of extra static data for map server to store and dole out to clients so lag increaser

thats assuming alot about how the hnh server works, ie dedicated terrain set, dedicated tree's and boulders, dedicated hitbox(allocated to faster memory), dedicated decayables(etc), and finally dedicated toons set. thats how a UO server stores if memory serves me right
