A way to get metal without a mine/trading

Postby Shask » Thu Sep 09, 2010 10:41 pm

There are some features in this game which allow you to reach items outside of your current tech - unreliably. For example, if you're in need of butter or a gauze, but haven't "teched" to taming and cattle rearing, you can find a four leaf clover and then try and find a wild herd. In the same regard, would it be bad for the game to have something similar for metal?

I'm not whining, just curious, because metal is pretty much currency at the moment, right?

You could get Numen points and get either tin, copper, or iron nuggets with 20 Numen points. Just puttin' that out there :P

+1 on that and also it's rather easy to trade stuff for metals it just costs some effort to find a reliable trading partner.

Just trade for it. If you say you can't trade for it you're not trying hard enough.

No thanks for the alternative uses for things. Stop making things easier and add more levels of difficulty to make things harder. You didn't get a mine? Oh well, take one or trade for it.

What's weird is that you can't find metal above ground of cliffs and such.

It would be neat if you can use the "mine" skill on "rocky" cliff walls to get scrap ores or something low ended, not bronze/silver/iron stuff but something that can be used in middle tier construction.

What I meant was that nobody near my settlement has metal.
