Environmental Issues

What will we do, about the clear cutting? I can kill on and two will pop up. I see clear cut forests no matter where I go. I remove the stumps for IP, and I use the timber for blocks and boards instead of cutting more. What else can we do?

Not everyone knows how (I do). Not many people know where clay is either.

I plant to plant evergreens and firs in the place were oaks and willows are. :3

It'll be nice if player planted trees has a "random" forestation based on the QL of the tree.

The chance could be [QL / 4]% every week, to a free 3x3 spot nearby.

Only certain trees produces more trees nearby, and only on certain types of soil of the same QL or lower.

Evergreen trees are used a lot for their bough, and people clear cut sometimes to spite others.

So if you plant 1 evergreen and it fully grows. So long as this tree is surrounded by adequate soil, terrain, and time, another seedling will sprout randomly nearby.

The process is kind of slow though, so there would be some limitations to it.

Another idea is for the stumps to actually produce trees, what happens is that after a long period of time, a new seedling will sprout from the stump, and grows from within it.
This mean that the trunk "decays" and allows a seedling to grow from under it.

There was automatic tree regeneration, but it only lasted like a day or two and then loftar disabled it because it was buggy. Maybe in world 4.

This world has many unresolved issues, but clearcutting isn't one of them.
