Perma-Party

Postby Gedrean » Sat Jan 01, 2011 8:27 pm

So, me and my SO started playing this game a few nights ago. I started playing it a night before him, and screwed up on the character I wanted to keep (I didn't grab newbie equipment so I died really quick to a boar... over and over again... effing boar. It showed up at my campsite five minutes after I started playing and proceeded to give me the business), but that's just life I guess.

So here's the deal, we've gotten both pretty far, we played together by sharing hearth secret and have been playing in the same plot. We actually moved pretty quickly, by day two we had a timber house, cupboards, and all kinds of nice stuff, so we're mountains of happy.

Then the SO places a stake claim. I seem pleased because I can go in it, (and I assume it is) because we are kin.

The next day I discover it's because we are partied.

There should be a way to "perma-allow" another player you know to use your land. That way, when he's not logged on, I'm not trapped in my bed unable to even re-sleep in it after a night's rest!!! Heeeelllppp!

Make it so he can choose to "allow" me into his claim at all times, so I can keep playing with him and we can be protected from thieving jerks who would come and gank our stuff because they think it's funny to rob people in a survival game.

You can already do this.

If your friend goes to his kin list and clicks on your name, he can give you one of the colours on the right hand side.

Then all he has to is right click the stake claim, pick that same colour, and then check all 3 boxes at the bottom. This should give you full rights to the claim.

Well, in kin-list there are colours, make your friend "yellow" (for example) and then right click on claim -> click on yellow -> put ticks in trespassing, vandalism and Theft. That is it. Your friend is allowed to pass

We tried that, and when the boxes were checked there was no "save" button or the like, and when he clicked buy it closed the window then when re-right-clicked the boxes were empty again. The color was white, should I have him pick another color?

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

You never want to use white since that's the default colour for anyone you kin.

There is no need for a save button. For example, click green, check the boxes, hit the X in the corner. Done.

Going to lock this, since it is already a game feature.
