Karma Meters.

Postby DartlesOwn » Sat Feb 12, 2011 10:00 pm

It used to be that only villages, thieves and hermits with palisades that looked like they had something worth stealing, were attacked. I have now, in the past 4 weeks, created 5 different characters at different levels of expertise, some that were in villages, some that were just hermits, and every single one has been murdered (usually in one hit.) What is the point of playing a game where there is no inherent consequence? Its just a matter of WHEN are you going to die. Most of them I didn't even have a chance to level high enough to kill a fox let alone a person. So it then boils down to jobless basement dwelling bottomfeeders vs. people who have jobs, go to school, have lives, etc. with the latter being the victims. I'm sorry, I've tried with numerous characters on numerous accounts for six months to play anything but a bucket grinding, noob murdering asshole, but apparently now that's the only way to survive this world.

People are incapable of policing themselves. Please, for fucks sake, implement some consequence in addition to or instead of the LP a person gains when they've killed another player. You've made an awesome game here... but eventually when the super powerful assholes who just go around raping everything they see kill off the rest of the population, no one will want to play.

Why are you being attacked so often? Do you have any way to defend yourself? Do you build in troubled areas or ally with risktaking players?

OP makes a good point.

The game is being dominated by scum with palisaded/walled HFs.

Not good.

I mean, what can people do if they're being killed by someone who's hearthfire is three supergrids away?

Track down the hearthfire, ram the wall and kill? You think anyone who's good at the game got that way by complaining when there's nothing wrong with the system?

If you've died five times this world your doing something wrong.

I'm just saying, there's no amount of security which can protect you all of the time. Even if I manage to brickwall my island, making it imfuckingpenetrable, I can still be shot by passerby on a boat.

That's how it's supposed to work. No one should be invincible and no one is.
