Change hard leather requirements.

No idea why on earth hard leather would require more than one piece of leather. If you've ever seen or touched a piece of full grain leather, you would see how stacking 3 pieces of them on top of each other wouldn't make sense since it would be around like 1 inch thick. Maybe increase the wax required but lower the leather requirement to one?

Hard Leather Means making the leather more rigid and tougher by boiling the leather to soften it up, the pouring some kind of resin to toughen it up.

1 Hard Leather = 2 Leather + 1 Bone Glue
Wax makes less sense than glue, and basically, bone glue should be more effective to create a harder piece of substance.

So what happens, both leather gets boiled, and like a sandwich, the glue goes in between the leather and once dries, becomes very tough.

2 Leathers instead of 3 since the Bone Glue requires 10 bones, which isn't very hard if you hunt a lot.
Wax can be easily found and the quality is kinda vague for the most part...

With Bone Glue, it's pretty easy to make higher Q stuff, you just need more bones of that quality and survival then.

its all abstract, dude. did you believe a branch was really the same size as a few seeds?

"making sense" isn't a justifiable reason to change game mechanics

I think they used wax because candles are nearly obsolete with light-hack clients every-ware which meant wax was becoming useless. The use of three leather is just to consume large quantities of leather and provide some separation between basic and 'advanced' leather items.

Humm that would be an interesting way of introducing urine without having to create it from hearthlings which is fought with all kinds of problems.

No. you can make Hardened leather with wax. Its pretty damn hard (edit; not the process, but the end product). as a remember it, you melt the wax, put the leather into the pot with it, and "cook" it in the wax. when its done awhile later, its hard as a rock.
