A few ideas of my own

Postby Makks » Mon Feb 28, 2011 8:14 pm

Hi I have been playing this game for a while now and i would like to share with you some of my ideas that came up while playing and I would like to read what you think about them. Now I understand that some of these ideas may have already been sugested but believe me I tried to search for existing topics and I didn't find them.

Elaborate on these ideas and tell me how to improve them further or why they would not work at all.

1. I think that exploration of new areas should give some amount of LP. Exploration is a mayor part of the game and it should provide new players the incentive to rather go exploring for a good starting position rather to farm on trees and buckets. Of course this sould yield no LP for a players tha is just walking in circles.

2. Working a proffesion should increase your skill over time. I don't mean that this sould be a mayor bonus. This should be balanced by players more experienced than me. For example if you harvest, lets say 100 crops, it should give +1 to farming. Other skills should be balanced acordingly. This wont give players too much bonus but in the start when you have to kinda focus your skill points it should provide some help. Now you could also expand this to attributes like plowing 200 squares gives you +1 strength or something...

3. Attacking an animal that can't reach you should make it run away from you. Now as far as i understand this is a really bad exploit. I feel it kinda ruins the spirit of the game when ppl can attack animals from boats or behind barriers so that they can kill an enemie way above their skill.

4. Farming could be made a little less tedious if there was a button for planting crops like it is for planting grass. It would just use the seeds as they are in the inventory and instead of planting the grass it would plant the appropriate crop.

5. Hard leather! I have seen this bug being reported like a year ago already. And i just lost 2 hard leathers because if you make more than 1 hard leather in a row it uses the hard leather in your inventory to make another hard leather. This shouldn't be to hard to fix... i think.

6. I think that stucking in things that you may have laying around the house like plows or chests should be removed. It gives noting to the gameplay value of the game and it's just annoying.

7. You cant plow dirt. There is probably no reason to plow dirt but sometimes it just happens that you may have a patch in the way and you have to move the plow in order to continue. Please fix this.

8. More stuff! This game is soo much fun and adding more stuff will just make it more awesome :)

9. EDIT I remembered another one :) When making boards and blocks out of tree trunks it should be gradual. I mean that it should give you 1 board at a time or 3 blocks at a time so that you can either make only boards or blocks; or make blocks and boards. Lets say that sometimes you don't need 4 boards but 2 boards and 6 blocks. This would same a life of another tree.

That's all that i can remember right now so please let me know how my idead would or would not work.

First of all, Welcome to the forums!

However, please note that ideas should be wrote in separate threads, instead of all your ideas stuffed into one thread (dont ask me why.)

it isn't hard to stuff your hard leather in a nearby cupboard.

The ability to walk trough solid things? No thanks.

You mean mudflats? If so plant some leftover seeds on it and plow the grass.

Thanks

I know that these should be each in their own thread but i don't they deserve it cuse it's mostly minor changes.

Thanks for the feedback but i hoped you could elaborate a bit on each point.

5. Its not hard but its just annoying and sometimes you forget about it and BOOM there goes 3 hard leather.

6. Only the stuff that you have arround the house. So that its not game breaking like running through trees and houses.

7. I dont know what those are called. The terrain that you get from using "stomp to dirt". I know how to get rid of them but sometimes you plow and you don't even see them and you have to move your plow. Its just annoying and there is really no reason for you not to be able to plow them.

loftar wants it to work this way, so it is not a "bug". It's just a really dumb feature.
