What? How does it demand more from water, when water is playing an equal role? The Q of water barely effects the Q of the leather produced. Take a Q160 hide, Q100 tub, Q100 bark, and Q10 water. That's still Q115 leather. Or even with Q200 hide, Q200 tub, and Q200 bark, Q10 water is only dropping it by 32 points of quality. That's hardly a significant role, and it's pretty easy to find Q50+ water to push that to Q175+.
Or are you suggesting it be something like ((2*qHide)+(2*qWater)+qBark+qTub)/6?
(I admit I had to edit this, because I didn't even think of the fact you're adding 60L of water to a tiny piece of bark. But also, "realistically", the hide doesn't absorb much water at all, and water, in fact, has no actual role in the quality of the leather)
