Change curiosities to be a "amplifier" to what you do.
Study ants, then you gain LP when killing ants and raiding ant hills in that duration.
Study dandelions/flowers/etc and you gain LP from gathering herbs in that duration.
Study chariot, and you gain LP when using clay.
Study wooden stuff and you gain LP for crafting unique wooden stuff.
That kind of thing.
But what about hunting animals? Study a wishbone?
Mining? Cooking?
etc.
Think of it as "reverse-engineering" kind of curiosity, or innovation buff.
Of course, botters will always bots so it's not about fixing it, but rather making curiosity system better than what it is currently.
If you don't want instant LP gain from the actions while your studying a object... What about having said action contribute to bonus LP gained on that study item after it's done?
Study a ant -> Go hunt and raid tons of ant hills -> Once study is done you gain bonus LP.
Because your character is studying a object, and is "experimenting" with similar stuff at the same time, thus boosting LP gain.
