Needless LP spendage for making stoneware vases and such.

I know that if you naturally obtain an object, you get some lp and part of the recipe to craft the item. Like when I picked up gray clay and I was able to craft stoneware vases. Problem I see with that is, a crafter who would rather spend points on dex or making clothes making, would also have to spend points on exploration or PER.

The player is spending points on FEP or skills who doesn't want but has to in order to make a stoneware vase or to get cave clay.

Problem with me? If I find 10+ ql gray clay and I am the only who can make the item, I would have to raise my DEX because my friend can't see or get the item naturally.

The concept of sharing recipes, as you appear to be eluding to, has been discussed thoroughly and is widely agreed upon as a good and necessary thing. With any luck, we'll see something like this implemented this world =)

Also, you do not spend learning points on FEPs, you get those through eating food.

I believe he's using the term "points" as a general player advancement term. The point (haha) still holds true, that a cook will still have to waste his "character advancement points" on stuff like XPL or PER instead of his desired skills/stats.

I agree, that you to have to discover some objects becomes a problem now and then.

Let's say you want to build a brick wall, but you need some metal to make it.
So you decide to trade another village for some.
But then you remember that you can't build the wall untill you discover metals.

Meaning their is no point in trading metals unless you own your own mine or that someone trades you some ore, so that you can discover it.
