Ham

Postby Danju » Tue Jun 28, 2011 1:18 pm

I think there should be more things you can do with the meat from your pigs. It would be nice if you could make different kinds of ham from the pork. For instance you can dry it on a drying frame to get regular ham, smoke it to get smoked ham or put it in a special tub filled with chantrelles or other plants and than dry/smoke it in order to get special hams.

It should take very long to dry your hams, in real life that sometimes takes months. Maybe you should get different kinds of ham when you dry them underground, inside or out in the open. The hams should give serious FEP, about 5 hunger per FEP for the basic hams and 2.5-3.5 hunger per FEP for the more special ones.

What do you guys think of this idea?

Would certainly encourage people to breed pigs more, Bierwurst is okay, but I agree we need more variety. 1+

Bacon should be like pepper and just give an FEP bonus to what ever you eat with it as bacon goes with anything.

A bagel toasted with honey glistening of it in the moonlight with sizzling bacon crumbles blanketing it. Nom, nom, nom.

Cheese-like processing of ham would make perfect sense, making prosciutto is a long and delicate process IRL.

That is just what I was thinking, and Parmaham can only be produced when dried in the mountains.
