Rare versions of curios.

Postby SacreDoom » Mon Aug 22, 2011 3:44 pm

I came to think that some curios could use a very rare version of themselves, here's a few:

Astounding Albino Bluebell (Or "Albusbell", perhaps? :P)

Real life examples

Base LP: 18k

Att: 13

Study time: 20 hrs.

It's found randomly when picking a bluebell, the chance of finding is 0,1% (1 out of 1000)

Majestic Toadstool

Real life example

Base LP: 2k.

Att: 4.

Study time: 4,44 hrs.

Found randomly when foraging Toadstools, 1% (1 out of 100)

Phallagoom (name by Vigilance.)

Base LP: 666

att: 5

Study time: 4

Found randomly when foraging Stalagooms, 0,01% (1 out of 10000)

Because it takes time and effort obviously.

Considering all growth in this game is done through curios, adding more curios would never be a problem (as long as their value is balanced to their rarity).

But why making rarer versions? Especially of curio that already is very rare and is one of the best in the game?
I can understand rare versions of mediocre or common curios.

In fact I think that increasing chance for curios that are already rare, or creating curios obtainable in new ways would bring more variety that making curios that will be seen 3 times in a year :S

Do we really need more forageable curios? I like the idea, though it could be taken to pretty much everything in the game.

It could be applied to event curios too.

Event curios usually already are rare versions of themselves. Everglowing ember, weird beetroot, golden egg, perfect hole. Jorb or Loftar said when we talked about it maybe some of them should be less rare since they might as well be not in the game with their current drop rates.

I guess another option would be if you could unlock other recipes with them. Like everglowing ember to craft a special kind of ring. Perfect hole and creamy cock to...uhh you know where I am getting.
