Wipes are done for 2 reasons: Critical game ending errors and Large updates/massive changes. Ideally we want them to occur with the latter and for that to occur means waiting several (Read that as 6+) months as the devs develop things and work on their other projects.
The ideal for the game is to run uninterrupted by resets, so a vote to have the game reset will never occur.

There are always doom sayers saying that there will be a reset. They're lying through their teeth and say so without any evidence.
Just play the game. Even if there's a wipe tomorrow for some reason you'll be more experienced and better off than if you wait for the wipe to happen.

I hate when people say they'll wait for the next world to play so they'll be on even grounds. The truth of the matter is that you're still gravely behind because everyone who was playing knows the game really well and will rapidly ascend again. You'll be a newbie all the same and will get left in the dust.

Mods very rarely hand out bans though and even rarer over silly things like this. It's primarily done over violations of the forum rules or in rare cases because someone was being a huge, insufferable troll. No need to scare anyone =)
