It would be great that you could extinguish fires by right clicking them with a water bucket.

A bucket of water can be much harder to obtain than just grabbing a block of wood or 5 branches. You want a semi-permanent fire? Build a HF in a house. Build your hearth fire back where you want it. You now have a pile of wood that can be lit as a fire. If you leave the house for more than a few minutes while the fire is lit, it goes out and you still have a pile of wood there for a fire later. You have now "virtually" poured water on your fire to put it out!

Not unreasonable at all. It's nice to have more control over the tools and constructions that we use.

What would the benefit be over just letting it finish burning then?
