Future Development: New Skills: Painting

Postby Ranma » Wed Feb 08, 2012 3:05 am

Hello fellow hearthlands !
While waiting for someone, i decided to try to wrote my 'another' ideas

Firstly first, the idea was like the topic said, Paintings
Painting ? DafuQ izzat ?
*) Its a new skill, which required 30k LP to learn
*) Its give the ability to paint object (coloring)

Yea rite.. so ?
I have 2 main reason for writing this idea:
1. I see some of hnh people are pretty artistic, which is they like to make paved area, or object into a drawings or something, so this idea might help with colored objects
2. Maybe yes, maybe no.. A colored object sure is nice to refer to
(for example: "use the smelter from the 2nd row of the north side") <-- how about "use the green smelter one"
3. Way new innovation of doing things, since i see some people just like to decor their village rather than doing any other things

Yeah, duh what the benefit ?
*) As i say, you can paint your object, like the brickwall and smelter, steel crucible, cupboards... basically almost any object (color available: black, white, red, green, blue, yellow)
*) A new curios type that i can list and discuss later which probably 2-3 new curios type (crafted curios using painting ability is softcapped by : sqroot(dex*perc)

Well, i have to go now...
If i would ever get positive response on this, i will continue and finish this idea (all the idea i wrote this is less than 25% of all i wanted to suggest)
And i would explain more about how do we paint, and how curios will be made :D

Hope to see replies soon :D

EDIT: Continuous
Firstly, thank you for everyone who has supported this idea, i now will continue from where i left off

Yeah mate, dig your style !
Okay, so let's begin from the Action Commands
Adventure --> Paint ---> Paint Red, Paint Green, Paint Blue, Paint Yellow, Paint Black, Paint White
Craft --> Tools ---> Paintbrush

Of course, if you want to paint, you need to equip a Paintbrush (like equipping hammer) and a jar of PAINT (whee ! this is where the interesting begin) and then select the object you want to paint, I.E brickwall segment or anything that is an object
To make a Color Paints you need: (i would like for more suggestion about this, hopefully we can make the "usually" unused foraging items become more useful)
The Paints should be made with cauldron, softcapped by Qcauldron and Qwater and a result of 1.0L of x Paint Jar
Each object painting would require different amount of paints used:
For example:
(Small object) = Pot, Wooden Chest, Palisade Segment, Brickwall segment, etc will use 0.1L of paints each
(Medium Object) = Large chest, Cupboard, Spinning wheel, Meat Grinders, Steel Crucible, Alloying Crucible, Barrel, Anvil, Cheese rack, Trough, Cauldrons, Beehives, Herbalist Tables, Tanning Tub, Curding Tub etc will use 0.3L of paints each
(Large Object) = Ovens, Smelter, Loom, Winepress, Mine Support, Chicken Coop, Kiln, Barter/Vending Stand, Quern, Plows etc will use 0.5L of paints each
(Huge Object) = Log cabin (1,5L paints each), Timber Houses (3.0L paints each), Stone Mansion(5.0L paints each)

And to remove the paints back to its original color, use Solvent, as much as the object needed (example: medium objects need 0.3L of solvent to return it into original color)

Red Paint (2x Acre Clay + Empty jar + Bone + Rustroot)
Blue Paint (2x Cave Clay + Empty jar + Bone + Spindly Taproot)
Yellow Paint (2x Ball Clay + Empty jar + Bone + Dandelion)
Green Paint (2x *Mud Clay + Empty jar + Bone + Stinging Nettle)
Black Paint (2x Grey Clay + Empty jar + Bone + Inkweed)
White Paint (2x Bone Clay + Empty jar + Bone + Stalagoom)
Solvent / Cleaning Agent (1.0L of water + Empty jar + Bone Glue + Boar Tusk Snuff)

Crafted Tools
Paintbrush (Block of Wood + Auroch Hair + String)

*PS: Mud Clay ? i suggest it would be another type of Clay that spawned in swamps, or maybe grasslands ? (correct me or a better idea)

Ooh... then how about the curios ?
There are 3 types of curios i would like to suggest :
1. Artistic Masterpiece (1x1) Requires 12 Attention
8000 LP, 10 hours Study time (The quality of the curios = (QPaintbrush + QPaint)/2 = QArtistic Masterpiece (Softcapped by sqroot(perc*dex))
This curios is rarely obtained by doing artistic activity (1% chance) <-- maybe with these, will born many new artist !

2. Small Painting (1x1) Requires 5 Attention
4000 LP, 30 hours Study Time (The quality of the curios = (QParchment + Avg.QPaints + QPaintbrush) / 3 = softcapped by sqroot(dex*perc) = QSmall Painting
This is crafted curios that can be made with (Blank Parchment + 0.2L of every Jar of Paint (red, blue, yellow, black, white, green)) and a Paintbrush equipped

3. Scenery Painting (2x1) Requires 12 Attention
5500 LP, 24 hours Study Time (The quality of the curios = (2*Avg.QParchment + Bone Glue + Avg.QPaints + QPaintbrush) / 5 = softcapped by sqroot(dex*perc) = QScenery Painting
This is crafted curios that can be made with (Blank Parchment + 0.5L of every Jar of Paint (red, blue, yellow, black, white, green) + Bone glue) and a Paintbrush equipped

Any more ideas are welcome, again.. sorry that i need to go..
Any positive response will lead me to think more !
See ya on the next episod ! :D

so many similar things have been suggested...and I still support all of them. I travel around in a half broken boat just because I like the red color :ugeek:

More customization in general is always nice so not all towns look the same.

i think its more interesting the idea of painting shields, robes, banners with differents pattern so when you see a guy you can know if he is wearing his village patterned shiled/merch robe whatever where he comes from.

i think it would be good too, but yes, adding more colored graphic icon would be more than a job,
oh well.... after all i just thought of this idea for the next future development, such as W7 with a horse hopefully :P
