Temporarily locking C&I (or limiting access)

Postby SacreDoom » Thu Feb 23, 2012 11:17 am

It's getting really annoying to see the same suggestions over and over again, and the same noobs crying that they couldn't find another thread regarding it, or that this game sucks because 'their' suggestion won't ever get implemented.

So please, can you lock C&I temporarily until J&L get back, or at least limit the access to it, so we don't see the same stuff over and over again. I want to read good suggestions regarding current issues in the game, rather than a bunch of over-exaggerated ideas that won't be added anytime soon, if ever.

Thank you.

I think for now the only people that can do any kind of development for the game are the modders,
For example this http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25968 is a good idea, and im guessing that modders can add this to their mods.
(although i hardly have any knowledge of programming)

Leaving it open is the best thing to do, if you dont like the same crap that people are posting in C&I then dont go in there.

If this was locked, it would be locked for a very long time.

ICA is equally pointless.

No, it functions well enough as a trash bin.

I believe I've seen burgi or sab, maybe both (maybe it was someone else), mention that this has been discussed, but so far the decision is to leave it open for one reason or another. I'm not privy to the inner-party and mod forums, so I couldn't exactly tell you what the discussion has been. I just know I've seen in mentioned more than once out in the open.

The fact is that you can't stop new people from "coming up with ideas." They're going to post them somewhere. The only thing I can suggest is ignoring the forum. Think of it as walking up to a bunch of people in real life. You recognize them because they are part of the same trade organization, but you don't work with them on a daily basis. They are completely in their own little world when it comes to how the organization should be run. They are also pretty much powerless because they don't involve themselves politically in running the group. They start chatting up about how this or that would be different if they could do just one thing. Are you going to stand around and tell them how their idea is bad, how it will effect the overall organization, or will you just walk away because you realize no matter what you say, this little clique is going to ignore you? I'm betting on the latter for 90% of the people here. Treat C&I the same way.

In the mean time, who knows? Someone MIGHT actually come up with a truly useful suggestion. There are good ideas here from the last 6-8 months that J&L just don't have time to mess with. Noobs (yes, noobs) need to learn to internet. Don't penalize everyone else because noobs are noobs.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
