Character Death

I was recently hunting and had my main slaughtered by a bear which went from retreating to charging in the blink of an eye and I had some nice curious in the study which I would LOVE to save but my alt does not have theft. so now I have to sit here for 3 hours waiting for the corpse to rot and all my stuff drop so I can retrieve it, except my curios which will just blow away into the wind. Why can't characters from the same account loot same-account characters' bodies? I mean, both characters are on the same account, they're kinned, etc. Please tell me if this is asking too much, and don't start lecturing me about how "this game is supposed to be brutal" I get it, but I thought this would be a nice idea, especially for hermits like me.

EDIT: This bear is a sneaky bastard.. after he kills me he decides to camp outside this other hermits house... Hope he doesn't log on right now

Just reincarnate a character where your main died and they can loot everything without theft.

Edit: They have to inherit from that character in the char start room mind you.

Aggro that bear off that guy's place if you can, just in case he logs in, or he'll get mauled. Use sling, don't melee bears if you're not a powerhouse.
