New combat?

New combat?

My friends and I really enjoyed the game minus the combat system.

I understand the combat is sort of unique but it feels a little slow and difficult.. they always quit from the combat or the boring farming

why not have some sort of action rpg combat where you just slash and shoot bows like you normally do on Zelda for example?

There could also be a short global cool down after a move and perhaps have bonuses for avoiding an attack with maneuvers to prevent the whole "attack more to win" you can add some sort of counter play and counters.

it would also be great if you could do basic combat without learning skills so the farmers could fight back without having a combat account :lol:

Please reply if you have a good combat idea.

Action RPG combat doesn't generally work in online games unless it's handled client-side, due to latency. If it's handled client-side, it's open to abuse. One game had a problem where a player could unplug their modem for dozens of seconds, go on a rampage, plug it back in, and have their PC survive while everyone else died suddenly, not unlike a low-budget animation of a ninja.

Remember, it takes at least as long, more often several times longer for signals to cross the world wide web at the speed of light than it does for them to get from your brain to your fingers at the speed of thought. This makes blocking and dodging virtually impossible to simulate in online games, unless everyone is simultaneously precognitive and extraordinarily patient.

I never got the point of combat, do you need to learn skills to combat?

I got lost in the wilderness found nothing to do and quit.

the graphics also looked horrible, im interested in hafen gfx though

much prefer salems action combat to havens, its mostly the humour system which made salem salems completely shit not the combat itself.

or we could just upgrade salem's graphics to attract more players :oops:

just checked the salem combat and it was a lot cooler than the ones in haven :roll:

Make some other choices for combat than grinding 1000 uac. (For example ranged combat)
