Singleplayer DS Version

Postby Jevon » Mon Nov 30, 2009 9:45 am

For when I get bored at college.
This isn't a thread for people to flame about how bad the DS is, it's a thread for people to flame about how bad this idea is.

For crops and the like, could use the internal clock and work out the difference between the last save and the time it is then, apply the changes, load the world, Animal Crossing style.

This idea is mainly because I want to experience the things that I can't do ingame, due to the place where I am being stripped of alllll natural resources, and also the threat of other people killing me lest I do anything that I shouldnt... Not that I'm that kind of person.. at all... no...
Maybe it could link up to the web and shit like that. Brainstorming.
I should probably edit this thread and pad it out a bit when I have a better laptop that DOESN'T FREAKING BANG EVERYTIME I PRESS THE SPACEBAR.

It seems like every MMO or vaguely MMO-ish game I've EVER BEEN A PART OF has had someone request it ported to a DS or some other portable gaming device.

Probably cause a lot of them would actually work on such consoles.

Edit: Or they've amassed such a large fanbase of retards that anything crops up in their respectinve forums.

Edit Edit: Which isn't the case here.

This game has already been ported to DS with a Farming, Mining and Animal caretaking style of play...
Look for it under the name of Harvest Moon...

The fact that people ask for it to be ported to a hand held does say that they love it so much and want to play it everywhere. BUT they forget that its something that won't ever work on the handhelds of this day and age. Processing power, net access, things as such. The amount of Data that needs to be processed by the machine just to view the client is too great for a hand held to handle...

Maybe some day in the future where it has advanced to the kind where a laptop is a handheld instead of a large thing that you can't really use while riding on the bus or in the car or.., Hey wait you can already, maybe if the Net becomes completely available everywhere and all you need is a little thumb stick that.... Oh that's done too...

If you want a game of this proportion to become squished into something like the DS or the PSP you have high hopes. But if you can use a laptop that can access the net anywhere, then you are covered. But hand helds are something of a different nature...

Hence why I said SINGLE player. Meaning no net access needed.
