Make High Quality Harder/Longer

I dunno about this one, but from what I'm observing, it seems that the quality system works in such a way that once you can craft high quality stuff, you will be churning it out at the same rate that you were churning out low quality stuff.

Would it perhaps be better to say, allow the user to somehow determine how much time goes into making an item and set the quality level based on the care taken?

Obviously this is only relevant for manufactured goods, and not raw materials. I guess it just seems like once you get the ability to craft crazy high stuff, you just flood the market with it. that strikes me as sub-optimal, I'd rather have really good stuff rare and epic.

Why would you? Where's the benefit to the crafter?

I'm thinking more along the lines of a "do I pump out a bunch of mid level dealies for quick cash, or do I slave away for a week on THE EPIC RING OF GODLINESS" type decision

with most high level crafts you have to sacrifice a good tree. if you want to make badass armor or weapons, for example, you have to use the best fuel possible. if you want to crank out a bunch of low q armor, you can just make boards from a q10 tree for fuel. want to make good beer? you need a good barrel. etc, etc, etc. basically where i'm going with this is that the higher q goods are either more effort (to gather the higher q resources) or take a sacrifice of a good tree, where the cheap, mass produced goods are things that require less effort to gather, etc.

Do High Q trees really take much more effort than low Q trees?

I guess you've got to collect the water and the soil for them...

Do you personally, reckon that the market right now is being flooded with HQ gear? Or do you think it's still significantly rare?

It may just be my own perception that's out.

Things higher up on the resource tree are better naturally, and take longer to make then things lower on the resource tree :?

Not so much having to do with quality, but it does affect how "good" the item is.
