Degradeable curios

Postby LadyV » Mon Jan 12, 2015 11:01 am

I mentioned this in a reply in announcements but might as well make it a formal suggestion. How about curios degrade as they are studied? You still only get the LP at completion but if the process is interrupted the percentage of study reduces the remaining LP.

So that noobs don't get bored waiting 8hr for lp
I think they should degrade in quality over time while being studied and much much slower while not being studied. using some square root formula ofcourse.

Really? I don't remember seeing anything about that.
I like the curio system too but I am interested in what the new idea's might be.

Curios are consumed upon study completion. That means they are worn down and no longer usable for study. It also means interrupting the process should be penalized because you have not formed your final learning conclusion from it. Be it an intentional removal, theft, or death, a curio should reflect how much is left to study. Remove it to soon and you get less than if you let it finish. Steal anothers study and you to have less.

And yes I to hope the curio system stays. People can not be on all the time yet their characters time still marches on so it is a fair system to represent that.
