Boatbuilding

:)

Just in case our Gods want to give us some more boats. Here's how its done. Oh and - lets have a viking warship if only for the coolness of having one of these sitting at the dock. By the way - animals were often transported by boat back then. hint hint.

The ship being built is probably a copy of a warship. 30 meter long.

oh here's how to make planks :)

I think more boats would be nice. Of course with rivers being dominant size would be the limiting factor.

This was meant to be part of another thing, but now that it has been mentioned, why not post it here?

Boat Types:
Rowboat, what was shown off in the HnH2 gameplay demo.
Canoe, Wikipedia meant for fast boating, small, easy to destroy, can only carry one portable item. Moves at sprinting (fastest) speed.
Merchant Vessel, Wikipedia The wagons of the sea, same size and storage space as a wagon, can carry up to 4 animals. Moves at Walking speed.

I really like this idea but just curious how are we going to take that boat back to village pick it up all alone and jump to HF..hahaha.....
would it be a boat that could hold more than two items.... idk maybe 4 hearthlings pick it up together and hearth same time lol....

You could make it so to move a big ship, You'd only be able to move it on land if you build a cart. But make the cart move at the speed of a Ram, and have it only able to go, about, 100 (or so) tiles before it breaks and needs Bone Glue for repairs. As for the "Four hearthlings picking it up at the same time" thing, idk, most likely not. Why'd ya think rafts need to be taking apart to be moved ;)

Well the hoax doesn't seem to be a hoax looking at the hafen preview vids and reading the announcements ... ;)

There are sure reasons why neither the viking ship nor horses got implemented in haven - which is another pro argument for recoding and hafen :)
