City Foundations

Similar to claim but this would make the "city" become a public area. preventing anyone from claiming an area within its' vicinity.

The "Mayor" could be the one who made it, or changed to a voting system. The Mayor would have it so anyone can join the city, but it can be set to confirmation only.

Nobody will be able to build non liftable objects who are not members of the town.

To increase the claim size, any town member can use LP to purchase an extension, but it would not work the same as the regular claims. Instead, the character will receive a deed, which sets down a 5x5 tile "town zone" This would allow for more versatility than the north, east, south, west upgrade.

This is probably the best system of this kind I've heard of. Perhaps this could tie into civility/wildness of an area.
Surprise.

Well, I keep in mind that balance is very important.

I understand the point of 'Nobody will be able to build non liftable objects who are not members of the town.' for preventing griefing, but this also may restrict more occasionally-reasonable actions (blockades, protests, etc.) When Karma/Wyrd/whatever and object destruction are properly implemented, then I feel Trespassing should allow this kind of building, but obviously with the appropriate Wyrd penalty. Also, while different land shapes would be nice, they would need to be implemented in a way that prevents surrounding land to effectively own it without spending the full LP.

A ring of influence would be nice as suggested before. Some sort of town bon fire would work nicely as sort of center piece. But it should be upgradable to statue of the major. :D

Something quite similar is planned for the village system. It is uncertain exactly when those plans will be implemented, though. Hopefully before too long.

Hopefully soon indeed. I hate hearing about people having to leave their town because someone claimed their mine.
