Tombs

Now, I know that the devs would definitely be planning on adding Cairns, Tombs, etc. I would just like to ask, any idea if this is something that might be added in the near future?

The way I see it, perma death means when those giants among men (or women!), the people who have _really_ put a lot of effort into their character, eventually die.. and really, there's no telling when... that is going to suck. I mean, mega pain. Take Blaze as one example. Basically the guy is like Achilles. When/if he dies, that is going to suck for the player, and it is going to suck for all the people who rely on his protection. All that effort, *poof*. Yes, full tradition is great, if you've got it (and theres no guarantee any character player would), but the character is dead none the less.

So, the way I see it, Cains/Tombs and what not are a way of softening the blow somewhat, and making sure the player has left a lasting impression on the world. A variety of sizes would be great.

can you carry the current corpses? currently you can ofc make graves with runestones. this be fun tho; grave digger skill so you can actually dig graves :P then a stonemaker will make a nice runestone or tomb, ofc you should be able to dig up graves and loot them! ( or a skill such as stone carver for these more advanced stone objects), anyone could be able to make a cross out of 2 branches and some string?

I can see it already, when there is actual towns (houses, different buildings, not a bunch of cabins) and you have the local grave yard, would be a nice additon to any town.. and someone dug up all the corpses !

Actually, there will be a lot of advantage in having your characters die once in a while. We won't just be adding tombs or graves or similar things, but various skills and techniques related to ancestral worship. Therefore, the more powerful ancestors you have, the more powerful will your current character be. It is a bit uncertain what those skills will actually be, but I think Blaze will be glad to have such a powerful ancestor. :)

That's nice to hear, but i still want a proper burial place! A couple models for grave stones and the ability to dig a grave.

Oh yes, certainly. Proper burial will be necessary for you to keep on good terms with your ancestors. :)

On the other hand, I believe Jorb has some graphics in mind, also, for... other kinds of burials. Things you may not do to corpses of your friends. ;)

Ooh, will this give penalties to those players, so we can really hurt griefers? I'd expect to be able to recover the bodies in these cases, of course...

I wish you'd be able to tie up people, put them on a cart and force them somehow to spawn 3h away, without being able to spawn back to in the center.
