Message in a bottle

Postby Vattic » Sat Jul 18, 2009 7:04 pm

How about if we could put a message on some parchment and then put that parchment in a bottle and drop it in some water. It would disappear much like things do currently but at a random number of days later it could appear on the shore for someone to find.

True it would be completely useless but I'd like to see this none the less.

Funny that you should mention it. We've planned for a long time to implement it so that items that are dropped in water tiles wash up on beach tiles here and there in the world. :)

First off, you guys are preemptively discussing things you know people will suggest just so you can say it's planned, aren't you :)

On a completely unrelated side note, jorb, fix the palisade bounding box. Loftar says we should nag you about it.

Yes they are, it's for legal purposes.

I hope that key molds don't wash up, or we get another method to destroy them.

For that matter, inventory object destruction in general would be nice. Abusable, maybe, but sometimes I like to drop things where they're not cluttering up my hard for several hours.

Speaking of messages, it would be great if we could write longer strings of text on parchment, so we could have letters and such in-game. Also, a wax seal would be uber cool!

You can write a longer string, you just don't see what you're typing. When reading such a message, you need to drag it to the left because it won't fit on the screen in it's entirety.
