Seeing as fish seem to be the flavor of the week for discussions. I thought I'd weigh in with an idea I had for bait. I found it a bit frustrating to get enough entrails when butchering animals.
So solution:
Let us mash left over meat, intestines and entrails into giblets for bait.
I think it'd be a handy way to deal with all the extra carcasses I have from when I'm out trying to acquire combat skills and just hunting for fun.

Turns into 10 crumbs that you can use for fishing.
Cheese curd should also be usable. Some fish go into a frenzy over milk powder.
