Haven used to be a lot more racist. And I mean truly racist, not just in a name-calling kind of way; when I was new I was taught to fear the Russians and to generally be wary of non-Western people. This was partially justified; people of the same real-life regions tended to band together and be hostile to people who didn't speak their language. The old 'watch out for Russians' is now a more general 'watch out for large factions', and an increase in friendly interactions (such as trade) seems to be reducing racial tensions as well.
I was recently surprised to see someone's screenshot in the screenshot thread deleted because he had a swastika on his shield; he had to repost it with the swastika censored. The forum community seems to be heading in a significantly more politically correct direction nowadays.

We should ask the one being the usual targets such as the polish, the russians and last but not least the canadians.
I don't think it can be considered goodhearted teasing. Though I doubt any genuine racism was involved, as the posters just seemed to tap into racist sentiment to be more hurtful, the comments are definitely hateful. Which is nothing new in this game; after all, Haven is where people abuse bugs to utterly annihilate everything people have built up over several weeks and then brag about it on the forums. It's just how the community is.

Before anyone tries to "call me out" as a troll or feminazi I just want you all to know that I take this seriously. None of this is okay. The mods or community at large needs to come up with some kind of memorandum or at the very least begin to punish those that REGULARLY spew racist, bigoted, vitriol across the forum.
Thoughts?
You're fighting symptoms here; the problem is not the racial slurs, but the people using them and the hate for which they're used. You can hide the slurs, but the hate will remain. They'll just find another way to express it.
