But moderation of a community should be much more. At least things mentioned in here. https://discord.com/guidelines Which some, are not enforced in the current "de facto" server.

Then, why don't you ask server creators to follow guidelines, but creating a bare new server instead?

I think I may have asked something about it but they think there is no problem. And if they think that, then either their standards are different or they are unable to enforce them effectively due to the lack of interest/time.

Your discord has been advertised here for a week, spammed in the official discord, and regarded as a meme in various conversations since its creation. Despite all the hype and it being present here through a couple different instances of high online user counts, and you've only gained 1 additional member.



Seems that, compared to the 1000+ people in the official discord, only 15 people share your concerns, and something tells me that those 15 people are rather there for the joke of it all, and not because they need a safe space.

Out of the 1000+ genuine members and sockpuppets in the hedgehugs discord it would be interesting to know how many of them are active or paying any attention at all. There is a dozen or maybe two dozen active members there from past experience and most of them constantly shitpost.

I doubt there will be any significant influx of members to any discord channels until the next wipe. Creating the channel now and ensuring it is stable until then seems sensible to me.

That being said, shublas discord doesn't offer much beyond an alternative public window into the community.

jorb and loftar almost always had moderator powers in IRC, too, but they never classified it as an official means of communication.
