Botting is the one issue that makes most other issues more problematic, simply as it allows to brute force small imbalances into huge ones with basically no effort of a human.

From this perspective implementing anti-botting features would be fixing ongoing issues, and adding things to increase players base - simply as less players would turn away demotivated from realizing that all their honest efforts are made pointless by automatons.

instead of anti botting features, mechanics should be changed so that botting wouldn't be mandatory
anti botting would be poorly enforced, and people would try to circumvent them, some would probably succeed, detecting bots would become harder and harder
botting would become thing that only major villages could do, no one would share their bots because they dont want to get caught
time of devs would be wasted
currently, a noob can get reasonable farming bot, but with anti botting features, noobs would have no chance of getting their hands in something that wouldnt get them banned

This is literally the worst explanation why devs shouldn't do something about bots. It's just going between "stupid idea, because of bots" into "bad idea, cuz titans". Two answers to any question, used by people who don't want to disrupt this terrible status quo.
