We're just stuck in a situation where we have to keep clarifying which mechanics were used, and which mechanics weren't, since the mob mentality on this forum has made most people go crazy, some of which may hold some influence over dev decisions.

You step outside of the realm of in-game ethics into real-world ethics when you start playing outside of the game's rules. Killing a player in-game is fair, as is destroying their entire base. But using an exploit (a meta-element, not a genuine game rule) to destroy someone's progress is clearly unethical.

And not just that. If they dont want to report the bug because they feel a cape isnt enough they can keep the secret for themselves. Eventually some good willing one will do it. The fear of the law should be enough to avoid this kind of situations. If the punishment were proportional for the crime. If someone abuse a bug to get a profit destroying other peoples properties and gameplay they should feel the God's wrath. Thats enough in a permadeath game to avoid this acts. If Dis was punished for geting inside other peoples villages with non intended mechanics this people should be punished in the same way. Punishing some people and not others is a sign of weakness and a door for this to happen again.
He's also cocky enough to say "some sprucecaps shouldnt be giving their opinions".

Whether or not this deserves a nuke is really up to jorb and loftar and I am personally neutral to the matter. However, I do expect them to patch this on the next update.

What needs to be patched? Should charterstones not reveal their names?

If they were to fix it for prevention of happening. That would be to not allow charterstone a to allow spawning and instead make people build the beacons.

Hearthing into a claimed area that is not yours (including the initial spawn) should give the Visitor debuff, just like any other teleport into a claimed area.

What if you then walk outside the gates and port to HF?

Its quite simple, you saw the visitor buff wasnt being applied when spawning, because a spawned charter is technically a visitor and not a member of the town and instead of reporting it to waited for a chance to use it to gain an advantage.

If there is no punishment it sets a pretty straightforward precedence that your allowed to find bugs and hold onto them until you can exploit them thus making the developers jobs harder because they have to wait till you feel like you have gained enough from that bug to tell them.

If you're paying money for this game stuff like this shouldnt happen, an unintended mechanic for raiding is bullshit. Pls nuke 4 baddies.
