If there is no punishment it sets a pretty straightforward precedence that your allowed to find bugs and hold onto them until you can exploit them thus making the developers jobs harder because they have to wait till you feel like you have gained enough from that bug to tell them.

The thing is, if you have your HF inside a village you're certainly not a visitor. I don't think there are any faulty mechanics here at all. If HF spawning had been turned off for that charterstone, and only used when there was intent to spawn actual village characters, there would have been no raid.

There's no flawed mechanics here, just a mistake made in securing the village.

Are you a member of the village?
Are you authd on their pclaim?

If not you should be a visitor. I don't care what happens to you but it should work like that. If I wanted you there I'd give you perms, party you or add you as a villager.

What if you knock down their wall? Still visitor? Sounds like a bug.

Mind you that none of Ryleh asked for you to get nuked. Even I, that lost 2characters in your raid. That has to say something about the hate you guys got on yourself... Even if you are being sarcastic... Still the truth is there... You are not at all the most popular guys out there. Maybe people remember that all the grudge on our village started after you made completely fools of yourself when completly fail ganked Felix in a 6 vs 1 horses vs on foot. Your autistic ego is prevalent to the rules of the game. I guess the core community will still remember this many worlds after. I'm ok with you trashing your reputation for some gold nuggets and some glimmers. No point in nuking

Everything about the raid explanation Arvin provided is obviously using unintended mechanics to gain entry. I'm not saying I wouldnt have done the same but lets stop pretending it is somehow legit and not sketchy. It's simple: Did you ram/catapult to gain entry? No, then it is an unintended mechanic.

I'm not advocating nuke or punishment, but you are trying to paint this image that we made some kind of obvious mistake in our security that 'everyone' knows about, it's clearly bs. You guys discovered a way to beat the system before most other people, feel free to call that a "security fail" if you want but you should know most people don't spend actively spend their time trying to figure out ways to abuse mechanics.

This- although I personally am advocating for SOME form of punishment, if it's ruled as being a bug abuse.

For the sole reason that we need to be consistent about exploits/bug abuses (given CORE last world)- I don't care about the severity or whatever, it's just the precedent of "abuse without report = punish," and "abuse even with report = punish" unless it's OK'd by jorb

But if the alt had spawned with visitor debuff, it could have walked off the claim and then hearthed back to lose it, this would not change anything, and doesn't seem like a bug to me. Should we have noticed that hearthing into a claim you don't have rights on doesn't give visitor debuff and reported that? This sounds more like a C&I suggestion than a bug, and it's not even a very good suggestion at that because it opens up all sorts of avenues for griefing hearth fires. The system could certainly be tweaked to allow more leniency with village security, for instance characters spawned on charter stones could begin without hearth fires, similar to the old charter stone system.

MightySheep wrote:you are trying to paint this image that we made some kind of obvious mistake in our security....

But you did?? Why would anyone think it is safe to build a charterstone inside their walls? any form of teleportation that others can gain access to is inherently dangerous. If you must build a charterstone in your village you should at least take some basic security measures. Build a round-pole fence around it, don't allow spawning, or just don't leave a secrit in it when not in use.

wtb the good old legacy days when noone gave a shit if you got raided by a unintended mechanic or a bug and it would had been complete nonsense to ask the devs to nuke someone because of it.

Wasn't this also the time when illegal hearthvaults started going mainstream and people accepted it because the devs were too busy with Salem?
