We are still talking as if our opinions mattered, but the fact is that if the devs dont fix this then it was never a bug, and vice versa.

Exactly what amount of wisdom and knowledge are devs expecting for new players? Should they go to school or study game mechanics to avoid this situations before playing haven and hearth? Because IMHO this is discouraging

And I do agree with you there. But I think it's a problem of a faulty mechanic, rather than a faulty group of players.
Also, obviously our opinion doesn't matter and it's up to the devs to decide. But I don't see how stating my own opinion could hurt. I think it's a bit dumb to just point fingers and go "NUKE THEM, NUKE THEM" because like them or not, in this case they knew better.

Let's start with that visitor debuff is retarded from the logical point of view - gates are there to be closed. That's their purpose.

It also doesn't encourage more players interaction at all, considering how many flaws it has. Evicting someone = instant KO, which is stupid and easily abused in combat. Closing someone in a fence, making him unable to do anything = not even going to comment. Also flattens the social aspect of the game which ALSO is spies and backstabbing. If anything it hurts player interaction. Let's be real here - noone just goes to someones village to walk around as a visitor.

Gates are supposed to be closed. If anything, make them less annoying - if you want keys to be linked to certain players, let it be. Just make them open both sides then and remove visitor debuff. Solution to all problems.

On the topic: using mechanics is not a bug. It shouldn't be punished in any way. It was a mechanic, no matter if not yet changed or not planned to work like this. Finding a hole in an already existant mechanic is not bug abusing.

pedorlee wrote:Not 100% sure if its bug or a mechanic abuse, but its clear as water than something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

What is happening here its an obvious abuse and a faits accomplis or foregone conclusions.
Let me explain because this is the way it allways happens.

1. A faction ruled by veterans find a way to bypass an intended mechanic or rule devs state for something. I.e : Raids must be done with rams or catapults. Moles can no longer just open doors and kill everybody.
2. Instead of comunicating this to the devs they use it to get an insulting advantadge and get a victory. They get the goods and kill their enemies while the rest of the heartling follow the rules and the intended behaviour set by devs.
3. When the rest of players complain about it they allways say the same:
-Without this the game won't get better and someone evil will use in a future or a present to get rid of their enemies.
-Rewards are not enough-lol
4- Actually they are the ones abusing it and geting the gains.

If those people had any will to make the game better their way of acting should be completely different, and in fact they are the ones not caring even an inch to improve the system.

In this case, and DIS one with their megashield, what we've got is a bunch of people abusing and raping the legal system of this game because its not existant and as it looks to me is not just arbitrary: its weak at its most.

My solutions are:
1. Because there isnt a legal system setup Devs should forget retroactivity and impart common sense as it were a law.
2. Punish those who abuse with the maximum strenght acordingly to what they have done. Eye for an eye, Talion law if you prefer it.
3. Legislate and create a new rule system stating what will happen.

With this a precedent will be created in order to balance the world, and from now on whoever do the sin will know what abides. Even if its obvious.

Its not NUKE NUKE NUKE.
It-s a fair and logic punishment.

What exactly should be punished? Using charterstones, teleporting to hearthfire and using vandalism the way it should be used?

Ask devs.

I ask you because you're the one claiming it should be punished. So please, tell me.

Im not the judge, im just giving my opinion.
You better ask devs or wait for their judgement.

Are you retarded? That's like saying "I got killed by a raider yesterday, he should be punished accordingly." "What should he be punished for?" "I have no idea, ask the devs, I'm just here on the 'nuke them' bandwagon!"

So what with all other scenarios that could happen? What if some noob left a hearthfire in their village before it was even built (let's assume they didn't bash it) and then raided them the same way? I bet that would be punished too, I mean, he's done basically the same thing, just without using a charterstone.
