That's what I've been doing, but I have zero confidence that it will complete without either
a) Me missing some timing window because I'm at work or asleep; or
b) The system bugging out and resetting my progress or killing/despawning my horse; or
c) My horse dying in combat because it simply refuses to yield.

As long as you don't leash the animal before you do a taming window you will be ok.

Also when you are fitting it use a special deck of 4 defences plus 1 punch and take off any str items and knuckle dusters. Click the peace option before you hit it with punch and you should be ok.

That's precisely what I'm doing. I killed an aurochs that way last world.

I'm at 75 tameness now I think, but I still have zero confidence it'll completely properly. I'll probably be at work for too long today and miss the next timing window.
