Thinking about recruiting, but...

Postby kemil88 » Wed Oct 12, 2016 10:18 pm

Well I have a small village with 3 active player and 1 player with connection issues who will return once he will fix it.
I'd like to have more players in my village, the problem is that I am afraid of trolls and griefers, I can't trust anyone...so, what I want to ask is:
People who recruit players in this forum, how can you trust random players?

Leap of fate, and hope you didn't stand in front of an abyss.

I have made good experiences with people I met (and interacted a while with) ingame, this at least reduces the chance of being actively found by someone intended on quick and easy grief.

There is no leap of fate w/o abyss.

I referred to a metaphorical leap and a real abyss - else it would be called suicide jump.

  • Develop structure and system where player can contribute to village but not harming it.
  • Vet potential recruit.

Suicide jump is still leap of fate: you have faith in the fact that you die when hitting ground, else is a really bad idea :p

Luck of the draw really, you can be the nicest person on the forums recruiting and some "blight" will try to ruin shit for the quick LoL. Better off bringing in friends.

Yet to see someone nice getting blighted, well, maybe beside Archiplex.

The thing is - you don't trust randoms from forum. I have been randomly recruited to Rl'yeah and it sure was crazy fun and wild ride, but I guess that both those bros and me were super lucky that time. But it can be a lot diffrent without such luck and being as cool as me. You want to mainly invite people that you played with before in other games, are friends of a friends and/or you helped them in haven before.
Considering people that you don't know at all, you want to talk with them on some sort of voip for quite a bit of time and before giving them all permisions, encoles them in a second brickwall, so they can't just waltz in and take everything out and/or destroy stuff and/or kill your characters.
Also, don't share accounts with people you don't fully trust.
