Ironically, more people refrain from coming back, because the game isn't healthy. You have a siege happening at your town, and you might have to go to work, study and etc. You may constantly feel anxious about your in-game stuff, that your cattle may die, your crops aren't harvested and etc.

That's an insanely good point. I remember the first week of W10 when no one had walls up, there was a constant pressure to be on as much as your body would let you. Take a break for a month and seeing all your shit destroyed doesn't help either. It's best to just try to get a home in a major city or base that likely won't fall in the time you're away. Perhaps more Nomadic styles of play could help remedy this?

Basically why I've stopped playing altogether, don't need that stress in my life, man.
