Merely thinking out loud, in fact. ;)

And, yes. Square claims that have much more reach. Lets get rid of this circular bullshit. For villages, that is.

Also: Kicking members without having to see them. Effectively a "buddy list" for the village. An interface in which you can see the village's authority objects in a list, jump to their viewport and set their permissions.

well no, since there would be quality, make metal a bit more common in really low Q in caves an maybe riverbeds (think about how they extracted gold in the west)

now, not only are we secluded but we depend upon superpowers that have the said metal... and since it's mostly the only thing really rare in that game, they won't trade for much things

sounds cool but i wouldn't limit it to gems. there could be some common minerals or rock types in there as well (not just the generic stone we have now, but specific types of non-rare stones that would have some utility, flint maybe? obsidian? limestone? granite? quartz? some would have more utility than others. maybe some types of ores? zinc? lead? aluminum? maybe salt?)

What would be even cooler, of course, is if your sight range was vastly increased in a specific village managment interface. You could then click about on the map, and order new projects, and whatnot. Within the villages "sight range".

Yupp! Stone variation for the win. Flint and god knows what.
