Tired of being a lonely hermit? In need of motivation to keep playing Haven? Fed up of living in an anarcho-syndicalist commune in which violence is inherent?
Come live at the Duchy!
"But why coming to the Duchy? It may have a weird name, but isn't it just like all the other villages?", you might ask. NO! And I'll explain you why.
We function as a mix of a traditional village* and a Brodgar-like village**. Each villager has their own plot, large enough so that can practice their profession. The players will be thus discouraged (but not forbidden!) from being a Jack of all trades, and instead are expected to specialize into something and sell their product in the barter stands (via our currency, the Ducats). Therefore you'll have the liberty of a hermit to do whatever you want and the ability to focus only on what you like doing. Besides we're open to more unusual professions, since being a huge power is not among our list of priorities.
The village layout is laid in a very larpy way in order to make it look like an actual medieval village. Therefore a few urban planning rules apply:
- The Golden Rule: straw roofs are mandatory (subsided by the founder nobles if necessary);
- Timber houses are forbidden because they look very cartoonish;
- Terraforming is discouraged.
If the idea of living in our village tempts you, send me a PM!
*A traditional village is an expression which here means a communist village, in which resources are shared and people have well defined jobs.
**A Brodgar-like village is a village composed of several people living like hermits, with no economic links to other villagers.
