Advice on first homestead

Postby DoctorCookie » Wed Sep 13, 2017 1:56 am

So I heard about the Northern Kingdom and that seemed like a friendly place, so I traveled the map in a boat for the past 2 evenings and went to the edge up north and found the mouth of a river way down south. Never found NK but ended up in Fire and Ice next to a little swamp and am just tired of traveling. Just want to learn the game in peace for a bit and build a little house.Do I need to get the ok from someone or is it acceptable for me to settle in an established kingdom?

It is generally OK to settle in an establish Kingdom. In fact most Kingdoms want you to because they get more authority when you gain EXP. As long as you aren't setting up shop right next to their capital or another established place of operation without expletive permission, it's usually fine.
World 12: Quit at some point.
World 11: Community Fair Worker
World 10: Co-Founder of the Northern Kingdom, Resident of Emerald City, Founder and Mayor of the Hole of Glory, RamZ's Art Emporium at CF, Member of the CFL Rams.
World 9: Founder of SnoopVille, Resident of Emerald City
World 7: Hermit and Neighbor to a dead Korean

Yes. Feel free to settle there. Just one piece of advice: you must only wear full leather in Iskra's Sex Dungeon. This Rule #4 for living in Fire & Ice.

Yeah, you'll be fine settling in pretty much any kingdom. Hermits are helpful for for producing authority to the kingdom, as a few have mentioned before. I think it's pretty rare for people to kill random hermits in their own kingdoms. Just try to avoid building your palisade in the middle of any roads or right next to other villages.
“We still, alas, cannot forestall it-
This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

I would like to reinforce this bit: Look for road signs in the vcinity. Follow them. DO NOT build or leave anything on the line you walk between the road signs. Items left blocking roads are liable to be removed without warning by road users. This includes items such as fences, crates of curios and new houses. Your co-operation in this matter is appreciated.
