I'm just a new player looking for someone to help me out. I don't really care for the experience just looking for someone to talk to and help support the place

If you wander until you reach a realm you will be able to access the realm chat and receive the realm bonuses - then the people who could help you would be your realm- mates and quite likely reasonably close neighbours. You will know when you are in a realm when you get a message saying you have entered a kingdom and you can see a crown in your top left.
