It's a map. You look at it in an attempt to find a familiar geographical feature. The more you travel around your place the better idea you'd have about your continent, which should make locating yourself on the map easier.

Also, some custom clients (Amber f.e.) have a built-in feature which would do that task for you using grid ids as guidance. But for that to work the client has to know the grid ids and I don't think those have been updated for the new world yet...

nvr4get the raid of sigma when i lost my 5 cupboards and an lc of troosers.

its with glee that i announce that im not stealing pants any more. too difficult keeping track of both pairs, when i can just take hats instead.
