Currently, when I see a player, they instantly hearth away, because they might think that I have rage and I am dangerous.
This prevents most spontaneous interaction between players.
I doubt there are any players who think that this is a good thing.

Personally I only tp away if I meet someone in combat gear. I know they might just be hunting, but it's not worth the risk. Hussar's Wings and Sword, definitely a no-no for interaction. Bear/lynx cape kind of a danger, but less threatening.

If you want to interact with people, start by going around without looking like someone ready to murder anything that moves.

What's wrong with lynx cape? Helmet + bat wing would be much better for combat. I personally like to wear lynx cape just fort the looks and it goes not too bad with Rattlesnake Stetson...

In my time living on the south so far, I've ran into a total of 1 person who actually tried to rob me. Everyone else here has been extremely neighborly.
